Six types of surgical procedures are described for treatment of ulcer such as ''patana'' (incision), ''vyadhana'' (puncturing), ''chhedana'' (excision), ''lekhana'' (scrapping), ''pracchana'' (scarification) and ''seevana'' (suturing).
