Cuminum cyminum L., popularly known as Jeeraka (Cumin), is an annual herbaceous plant belonging to the family Apiaceae. Its seeds are extensively used as a spice and a prominent medicinal herb in Ayurveda for treating various gastrointestinal ailments and metabolic disorders.
