<p style="text-align:justify;">Charak Samhita mentions that the calamities never resulted from any factor other than adharma (unrighteousness). In the first era (kritayuga or satyayuga), people were gifted with liveliness. Their bodies were firm, compact and stable like that of the mountains, they had clear senses and complexions. They had movement, strength and valour. They were truthful, honest, compassionate, chivalrous, self-restraint, disciplined, spiritual, had tendency to fast, and religious deeds. They were devoid of negative emotions like fear, desire, aversion, infatuation, greed, anger, etc. The flora and fauna was well flourished and of high quality , promoting the health of the individuals.
