The word 'dnyana' or 'jnana' is used to denote knowledge. It is generally applied for knowledge of self or atma. The word 'vidnyana' or 'vijnana' denotes knowledge of shaastra or scientific knowledge. It is one of the most important treatment for management of psychiatric disorders in Ayurveda.
